I never knew about The Salad Concept until I accidentally stumbled upon it while walking around Nimmanhaemin Road in Chiang Mai. I personally don’t read reviews about restaurants nor hunt down “the best places to eat” in the places that I go to. I just usually walk around and eat at the nearest places that I see.
I found The Salad Concept while walking around Nimmanhaemin looking for a place to eat. The place is packed with people, the ambiance seems very comfortable and non-intimidating for budget conscious people like me.
Me and my friend went inside and checked out the menu and it turned out pretty affordable. You have the option to order a salad straight from the menu or design your own salad. The choices of ingredients are plenty. I have never bothered to design my own salad as the salad sets on their menu are very appealing already to me.
I ordered the one with smoked salmon and I was blown away with how delicious it was. It was also a bit filling and I didn’t feel the need to eat anything else aside from the big bowl of salad that I just ate. My friend ordered a salad with teriyaki beef and it was equally sumptuous.
It was definitely the best salad I ever had in my life (yet). And in case you’re wondering, no this is not a promotional post. They really make great salads and you’ve got to try it and see for yourself.
Thailand is indeed a haven for good food. It seems that almost everyone here know how to cook up a great tasty meal that does not break the budget. Oh, and did I mention that the humongous bowl of salad is just around 100 Baht.
The Salad Concept can be found at Soi 13 in Chiang Mai. You can also check their FB Page for the menu (it was in Thai though).
So after almost half a year of traveling in India, we went back to Chiang Mai and also tagged along another friend to Manila and went to the Salad Concept. This time we ordered pan fried dory with salad, spicy thai sausage salad and teriyaki beef salad and all of them never disappoint.
Check it out when you visit Chiang Mai.
